Love To Do This and Get Rid Of That

OK, I am ready to rip everything out of my bathroom myself and then try and get a result maybe like this....
My master bath is soooo tiny and dated!  I really don't want to spend to much in here.  I was thinking of tearing that awful archaic medicine cabinet off and replacing it along with that horrible sink/cabinet combo.  Those wall sconces were once pointing down.  Just to make myself feel like I was changing something I turned them up.  If anyone has any suggestions, I would love to hear your ideas on what I could do to improve it!  Actually, you are probably thinking that it isn't that bad...for some reason my bathroom looks better in photographs!  I really hate everything about it from the floor to the shower to the color!  I am afraid that my hubby will come home one day and I will have demoed it myself!  Ha-Ha!
Major Ugh!
This bathroom looks about the size of mine (below).  I really like how this looks...so cute!  Can you have bamboo shades with privacy?  We would need that. Love the wall sconces and the cute sink!
Let me know what you think!  You are all so talented!

Well, it's actually not so hard on the budget if you do not change any plumbing.
You can get bamboo shades with a liner to have privacy.
Change the color, add some basic floor tiles let say tumbled stone for example, larger tiles need less grout lines and make the room look bigger...
Add some chic vanity (look for floor model bargains), simple mirror or cabinet with mirrored door and kick out the shelf above the toilet. Hang some floating shelves instead for towels. How about modern sconces?
Some neat accessoires and voila, you could be done!!!
I know, sounds so easy... but it could be done in a couple of weeks!
And with a reasonable budget too!
Good luck!

Thank you so much Victoria! Great suggestions, I am really getting motivated instead of grumpy...which is how I get when I look at that bathroom!

You're right it doesn't look so bad to me. But I do understand the need for change. I feel that way every time I step into my kitchen. I was watching Sarah Richardson redo her bathroom and how she chose an old buffet for her her new vanity. I think you could totally do that in your space only on an obviously smaller scale. What if you were to find a neat open piece and fit it with a vessel type sink. Just my thoughts. Good luck!

My bathroom is tiny too but I think all white is the absolute answer. I stayed at the Lowell in New York recently and my room had a tiny bathroom. It was all white, carrera marble everywhere and so fabulous! It was inspiration for my tiny bath too. And yes, you can order bamboo blinds with black out lining from Smith & Noble, though the blackout ups the price but in a bath very necessary. Go for it!

I just wrote a post about transforming my bathroom with just some paint. I'd love to do some more to it but right now, paint is cheap and could go a long way.

That wallpaper in the first photo is gorgeous! I wonder who makes it? If you're on the search for bamboo shades, check out JC Penny. I've just ordered some in that exact shade, and they're only about $30-$40 each! Good luck!

Hi Jamilyn! Oh I do wish I could help...but bathrooms are the one area where I never seem to have any inspiration at all...sorry! Adding a pretty white ruffled shower curtain from Anthro always spruces things up nicely :) But they don't come cheap...

Good Luck! Maybe just do a little at a time, to fit your budget, until it's how you want it to be ~

Write all your ideas down and compile your images of inspiration and go from there!

Thank you for all the great input! The first photo is from Martha Stewart. Not sure where the wallpaper is from. It is very pretty and cheerful. There were so many great bathroom pictures to choose from. I just decided to post two inspiring ones. I will just keep staring at all the images in my file and hopefully the ability to design that bathroom will happen for me!
Thanks! Jamilyn

I'm prepping for a bath re-do myself. My 'maaster' bath is also tiny. I already have stress over it! Keep us posted!

Hi Jamilyn, I have a verrry small master bathroom and I did a redo but kept the same footprint to keep it affordable. One thing I did that truly gave it a lot of punch was to put mosaic tile on the vanity wall and then put a mirror on top of it. It has a very spa-ish look. My bathroom is only 5ft wide by 10ft. the vanity is a 4x5 area divided by a pocket door and then the shower area is 6x5 equalying the 10x6 so you can see it is very small. here is the link to see the picture of my bath if you would like to see it on my blog

Good Luck with your project,Kathysue
