Saw This Little Ottoman

And brought it home to try it out in front of the fireplace.  I liked the size and details...

After placing it there, not so crazy about it.  So, brought it back to Hudson.

Still on the look out for something to put in front of my fireplace.  I am just not lovin' anything!  The two chairs you see aren't really supposed to be where they are.  Either is my gorgeous round tufted ottoman.  Just there to fill space for now.  Doesn't look that bad.

As I "hunt" around, I will post what I come across.  I was out all day today!  Ugh!

Umm, I think the place looks gorgeous. I love everything about this room. With or without that adorable little footstool. I love the airiness of the room just the way it is.

That ottoman is great but if you don't like it, just keep looking!

How about a traditional fireplace fender? An ornate one would add visual interest, one with seating would add function.

The ottoman is really beautiful, but I agree maybe not the right spot for it.
Im looking for a few things too so I know how hard it is.
I know you will find something fabulous, you have a great eye for decorating.

Hi Jamilyn! I can see why it caught your eye! I've been to Hudson in Wellesley- is that the one you went to?
The chairs and the tufted ottoman are fabulous!
Keep looking- you'll find the perfect piece!

My friend used it in front of her fire place and WOW it looks great. I'll send you a photo if you are interested.

I actually really like how your room currently looks! And I loved the small stool but you're right - better without. Keep looking! Marija

This room is so beautiful...love all the moldings the potential is endless!!! It looks like you have several classic pieces to work with.

Nothing worst then the black hole effect! Why don't you add some loggs and utensils for the fireplace?
Perhaps a bench with nailhead trim like the one from Crate and Barrel?
Or a small chaise instead of one chair? With a side table, an area rug would be nice and additional lighting.
Warm up the place a bit! Texture helps always if you want to be monochromatic!
Love the bones of the room!
It will come to you!
