Should I Go With The Viking?

Yes, oh yes, this is a Viking.  You know from True Blood on HBO.   However, this is not the Viking that would work in my kitchen (maybe I am wrong about that).  I need a fridge, and a stove right now!!!!!!!  Just to mention, before I go on, that I am rooting for Eric (the Viking vamp).  So that makes me "Team Eric".  Bill has gotten way to sappy for my taste!  Next week is the last episode and of course they are going to leave us hanging!  Have you been watching?  Also, I read all the Sookie Stackhouse books by Charlaine Harris so now it is really going to be hard to wait for the next season (even though I know what is going to happen)!
This is Alexander Skarsgard, by the way.

Mmmm....which one?  Decisions, decisions!

Wolf, Viking, SubZero?   My head is in a whirl!  All very expensive...feel like I am buying a small car!  But oh how I feel we should do better in our kitchen.  My dream has always been to have a beautiful semi-professional kitchen.  I am always in there so why not?  I do like to cook but feel my current "old" electric (gasp) stove fails me greatly!  Came with the house and I don't want it anymore!!!!!!!  Go away you beast!

Oh yeah, this has got to go....my stove!

The kitchen really is the most important part of your home.  Isn't it amazing how when you have guests, everyone always ends up hanging out in the kitchen?  Never  mind that I only have a table that seats two:

My eating area in my kitchen....staged (not so great before this)!

My problem now is...do I buy an appliance just to fit the current space?  Or wait more years or never to remodel and then get the bigger better models with the double ovens and 6 burners?  I guess I could have bigger problems to figure out.  This should be fun!

Do you have a beastly appliance that you want to get rid of?

Have a wonderful three day weekend!

I am so glad I am not alone with exactly the same issue...
I am still trying to work out the chicken and egg situation. If your final kitchen reno is not in your budget, I would upgrade to a point, but would not invest in a very expensive stove. Perhaps something middle of the line. Invest eventually in a good kitchen designer and safe up, it's going to be expensive!
I always wanted a AGA...

It's never perfect....I would get a new stove now to fit the space and love it as the best solution....

I think I've switched to team Eric after having enough of the sappiness, just like you.
Was just wondering if Eric was gonna die out there in the sun, or survive. But, you know if he will die? You've read it? Tell.. no, don't tell.. tell, no, yes...
So you wanna switch? To gas I see. I love cooking with gas, and the Viking stove is SO handsome (clever writing by the way).
You sure have a problem, bet you can't wait to get rid of the old one. Two ovens though sounds great. Don't know if I'd ever use six burners though. I've used 3 at the most - ever.

Have a great weekend.

OOOOooooh! Double oven and 6 burners sounds AMAZING - However if the renovation isn't on the cards for a few years, do yourself a favour and treat yourself to something fabulous that fits now. You'll get SO much pleasure from seeing it all shiny, sparkling and new regardless of the size - and as you say - the kitchen is a place that you are in EVERY DAY - it deserves a little bit of fabulousness! xx

We renovated our kitchen about a year a go and it was the best money I've ever spent! We added a Five Star range b/c it was a better price & it's great! I do have a 48" and can honestly say it was worth every penny! Good luck on your project. So fun.

I am so completely distracted by that pic that I can't even think about an oven...haha! I am definitely team Eric and that man is the epitome of HOT!

Team Eric from day one! I've just stumbled upon your blog, and I was hooked as soon as I saw that first pic. Oh, as for advice, sorry but I can't concentrate at the moment, other than to advise you to go with the Viking - good looking and hot (the stove of course!) Now following with great interest. K xx

So fun to have so many Beautiful options out there. Being a kitchen designer I say go with the Wolf range and Sub-Zero refrig. You won't be sorry. You can always add more wall ovens later. Very rarely do you need more burners. Also take a look at the new Microwave drawers if you have a chance. The best invention ever. Sue
